September News

Touchstone Families,

Can you believe we have completed our first week of school? It has flown by! It has been a wonderful start to the school year and classrooms are having a wonderful time getting to know one another.  I also wanted to thank everyone who was able to come to the “Meet and Greet.”  It was very nice visiting with families and getting to know you all.

As I walk down the hallway, I am in “awe” of each and every classroom.  Students are happy and already picking up on classroom routines and procedures.  It is truly amazing.  Students are transitioning into the school year seamlessly.

I wanted all of you to know that we keep classroom parent boards outside the classroom in the hallway.  This allows you to have time and look over the monthly newsletter, class schedule, Spanish poster, and lesson plan.  Classroom bulletin boards will display the process in which children learned or explored a given topic.  Many of these “process” boards will be going up in the upcoming weeks.    Rather than display all children’s final products we will display the process in which children went through to explore or learn about a given topic.

I hope you are all able to attend our “Back to School Night.”  The event starts at 6pm, in your child’s classroom and will last until 7pm.  During this hour teachers will explain classroom routines, how the classroom operates and answer any questions.  This is a great time to meet other families, who also have children in your child’s classroom.

I am so very happy our school gets to be a part of your family’s life. Please feel free to stop by my office or the front desk with any questions.
