April News

Touchstone Families,

Spring is here! The sun is shining and the weather is warming up. Our newly planted grass is also beginning to sprout. The weather has provided us the opportunity to expose students to the signs that spring is here. We have explored the blooming flowers, the bugs out and about, and so much more.

With the warmer weather and sunny days, we will begin to put sunscreen on children. Please see your child’s classroom teacher to insure they have sunscreen. We apply sunscreen before going outside. The state of Oregon requires students to bring sunscreen in lotion form, we cannot apply aerosol sunscreen.

April 22nd is Earth Day. This year we will be planting flowers and releasing ladybugs onto our playgrounds. This year we would like the entire school to show their love for the ladybugs by dressing in red and back. It will be a morning spent, gathered as a school and appreciating our Earth.

We have been presented with the chance to help out orphaned children in the Philippines. One of our family’s has a close relationship with the mission. The mission provides education, care, shelter and love to orphaned children ranging in age from infant to high school. There is a donation box at the front desk for any used shoes, education toys and books. Please keep these children in your thoughts as you do some spring cleaning.
