Families,
We are well on our way to a great start to the school year. Classrooms are engaged in meaningful activities and making lasting memories. We had a great “Back to School” night and it was so wonderful to see so many of you in attendance. As always if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to stop by the front desk, email me directly or call the school. We are happy to answer any questions or concerns.
All of you should be receiving our Links to Home daily reports and updates via email. If you haven’t had the opportunity to download the links to home app, it is a great way to stay connected to the classroom and keep all of your child’s daily reports and photos in one place. Simply visit the place where you download your apps and look for “Links to Home.” The link below will give you more help with the app, if you need.
Links to Learning
Important Dates:
- Oct.1-5: Tuition Due
- Oct. 14: No School (Professional Development)
- Oct.23&24: Picture Day (More details to come)
- Oct. 31: School Wide Costume Parade
Important Reminders:
Child Information Card: If you have not filled out a Child Information Card, see the front desk. These cards are kept in the classroom and are taken everywhere the class goes and insures we have important information on each child at our fingertips.
Sign IN/OUT: State Law requires each child be signed in and out of the building each day. We have a sign in/out book at the front desk. Simply open the tab indicating your child’s room number. Each child’s name is alphabetized by last name. Initial in the space provided and record the time you are dropping off.
Outdoor Play: We are fortunate to have a wonderful outdoor space. Our playground allows and encourages children to interact with the environment around them. We provide amazing open green space, encouraging children to join in organized play, such as soccer or the freedom to embark on an imaginative adventure.
We also have a rock garden for digging, burying, and manipulating stones and rocks, on each of our playgrounds. Our sandboxes, filled with beach sand, allows children a sensory experience. They enjoy the feeling of the sand between their toes, the way it feels slipping between their fingers and so much more! Logs, stumps and sticks can also be found on our playgrounds allowing children the opportunity to manipulate their environment and work together cooperatively to build pretty much anything!
We encourage families to send children in clothing that can get messy and dirty. Remember, they are learning and engaging in a way that will foster a love of learning and a curiosity that will push them to learn more for a life time.
Extra Clothing: Since children will get messy at school, we will be cleaning them up through out the day. We ask that each student keep 2 changes of clothes in their individual student bin. These items should include pants, shirts, socks, underwear and be weather appropriate. We also also that students keep a pair of rainbows/ outdoor shoes at school. Students change into their playground shoes before going outside and out their playground shoes when coming back into the classroom from recess. Keeping a jacket at school insures your child will always have their coat at school, for the chilly recesses in the near future.
From Our Education Department:
