December News

Touchstone Families,

It is the holiday season! We have many meaningful community events occurring this month! The holiday season is a wonderful time to give back and teach your children about giving. Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”

  • Christmas Family Adoption: November 30 – December 16

Through the Christmas Family Adoption Foundation, our school has adopted 3 families to support this holiday season.  There will be colored tags on the tree coinciding with each family.  Simply grab a colored tag, buy the item indicated and return in to the school with the tag attached, unwrapped.   We have chosen one larger family to help support and 2 smaller families.

  • Fox12 and Les Schwab Toy Drive: November 30- December 18

(Toys will be picked up on the morning of December 18).

Each year we partner with Les Schwab and Fox12 News to bring holiday joy to children in need.  Please bring any unwrapped toy and place it under the tree.  Each night we will move the items into boxes to minimize distractions.

  • Pajama Drive: December 18th

December 18th marks our second annual “Bring a Pair, Wear a Pair” event.  All staff, students and parents are welcome to wear pajamas to school.  We simply ask you also bring a pair to donate to a child in need.  We will be supporting Northwest Children’s Outreach.

School Closures or Delays:

  • Our School Website is beavertontouchstone.com . Check the website often for weather alerts and school closures. We will first update the website and then email families. IF your local school is delaying or closing for the day, there is a chance we will delay or cancel school. These decisions are never take lightly and require a group to agree on closing. The safety of our families and staff are first priority.
